So, you’ve heard that Reels are all the rage? This short-form, quickly-changing video content is the best way to get new eyes on your business on Instagram in 2022. Facebook has now picked up this short video format and it’s becoming more and more necessary for all platforms as time goes by. While there is a learning curve to this type of video content (just like anything new!), lucky for us, there’s some fantastic video editing apps that make it a million times easier! Let’s dive into 4 of the best apps for making Reels.

The Best Apps for Making Reels

InShot

This is my favorite, super cohesive video editor. InShot has everything you could need for clipping, rearranging, adding transitions and effects, the list goes on and on - and in the easiest, digestible format! I suggest this as the first app my clients use so they can get the feel for the apps in general.

Temply

Kicking things up a notch, Temply provides a wide variety of beautiful, seamless templates - all with a very trendy, minimalist vibe. This is fantastic for many brands, but specifically more feminine, contemporary folks. I love using this app to edit my own lifestyle content on my personal account, too. This app’s interface is very similar to InShot, but with an elevated feel.

Splice

A bit pricier and more advanced, Splice can help you craft a mini masterpiece! I turn to this app when I want to add a custom audio overlay and get super fancy with overall transitions / edits. It has everything InShot offers - and so much more.

Canva

Yep, that’s right… good old Canva can also come in super handy when making Reels! This one is especially great if you’re already comfortable using their system to create social graphics and the like. Like any other project, they offer a wide variety of templates and extras that you can use to craft a super quick, elevated Reel.

Which program are you most excited to try out? If you get stuck at any point (or would rather just outsource the work… I don’t blame you!), reach out! I’d love to provide some additional guidance.

more food for thought…
